Clarkson song hints at 'Halo' mess

Kelly Clarkson appears to have lashed out at songwriter Ryan Tedder and music executives at her label RCA/Sony Music in a new song after they convinced her to record a copy of Beyonce's Halo hit.

The pop star was left red faced when critics accused her of "ripping off" Beyonce's hit, and claimed songwriter/producer Tedder sent her the track that became Halo without telling her he'd already offered it to the R&B singer.

Clarkson tried to stop Sony Music bosses from releasing her version, Already Gone, as a single - but failed. So, the American Idol winner altered the arrangement herself, so fans wouldn't feel cheated when they saw her in concert.

She appeared to have addressed the issue with Tedder, telling MTV News, "I have a lot of songs that I've done with Ryan, and they all sound very different. It's just, unfortunately, in that situation, they sound exactly the same."

But now Clarkson appears to have taken aim at Tedder and the music bosses in the lyrics of new song Wash, Rinse, Repeat, which has just been leaked online.

She sings, "I can't take the pressure of new/Give me old, rip it off/Let's see if it sticks to the wall again... Does it sound familiar/Does it linger in your ear/Like something you remember from just last year?"
