Katy Perry’s marriage to Russell Brand is officially over - their divorce was finalized on Monday.
The British funnyman filed divorce papers in December citing "irreconcilable differences" just 14 months after their lavish wedding in India in October, 2010.
The divorce was sanctioned by officials in February, but the couple had to wait six months for the process to be completed, and editors at E! News have confirmed the union was officially dissolved on Monday.
The pop star recently opened up about the painful split as part of her Katy Perry: Part Of Me documentary, revealing she was desperate to save the marriage but the couple's busy schedules made the relationship too difficult.
She said, "I'm a romantic and I believe in the whole fairy tale. Love is a dream but the reality is making it work. I did everything I could - but it's still failed."
