Outspoken electronic music superstar Deadmau5 has taken aim at model Tricia Evans over an ill-advised Batman joke she posted on Twitter.com on Friday - hours after 12 film fans were shot to death in a Colorado cinema.
The Playboy pin-up attempted to make light of the Aurora massacre, which took place during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises - but her remarks didn't amuse the DJ, real name Joel Zimmerman.
She tweeted, "Tragedies happen in our world every day. Jump off the bandwagon... I heard the new Batman movie is really 'to die for'! Too soon?"
The defiant beauty then tweeted, "@deadmau5 Listen, apparently I have a different opinion than u. That doesn't make me a piece of s**t," prompting the DJ to fire back, "so your opinion of the tragedy in Colorado is... 'humor'? not sure how that's convoluted into an opinion... i'd just admit what you said was wrong and move on."
Evans' Friday remark made her a target of hate tweets over the weekend, but she refused to back down, responding to one critical follower, "No one can allow or disallow me from saying anything I want."
