Singer Fiona Apple has been freed from a Texas jail after she was arrested on Wednesday on a drug possession charge.

The Criminal hitmaker was released on $10,000 bail after spending the night in Hudspeth County Jail.

A spokesperson for the Hudspeth County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a sniffer dog detected controlled substances on Apple's tourbus at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint.

Agents discovered marijuana and hashish, a form of cannabis, and the star "freely admitted" the drugs belonged to her.

Apple's concert at the Moody Theatre in Austin on Thursday was postponed following the drama.
