Blythe charged with manslaughter
By WENN.com
Heavy rocker Randy Blythe has been officially indicted on a manslaughter charge in the Czech Republic. The Lamb of God frontman spent a month behind bars in Prague this past summer after he was accused of contributing to the death of a 19-year-old fan by pushing him offstage at a gig in the city in 2010. He was finally released on August 2, when he flew home to America and reunited with his group during a festival in Iowa. Now, according to Czech news outlet Novinky.cz, he has been indicted. Prosecutors have three months to set a date for the singer's trial or send the case back for further investigation. Blythe has previously vowed to return to Prague if a trial is set and fight for his freedom. In a post-jail interview, he said, "I feel ethically responsible to go back there and face this charge. The family (of the victim) is in a lot of pain, and they deserve some answers. To lose a child is the worst possible thing a human can go through... (but) I want my name cleared. I have to go around the world and tour, you know. That's what I do. I'm not going to hide here. I'm an innocent man. I'm going to go to court and see what happens." |
