It's possible that the Grammy Nominations Concert Live broadcast broke some rules for lack of Canadian content.

No Justin Bieber? The Grammys ain't a believer. No Carly Rae Jepsen? Was she Carly Rae Jilted?

Actually, Jepsen's Call Me Maybe WAS nominated for song of the year and best pop vocal performance.

The nominees in only five categories were announced Wednesday night in Nashville at Grammy Nominations Concert Live, which was co-hosted by Taylor Swift and LL Cool J and was televised on CBS and Global.

Record of the year nominees for 2013 are Lonely Boy by the Black Keys, Stronger by Kelly Clarkson, We Are Young by .fun, Somebody That I Used to Know by Goyte, Thinkin Bout You by Frank Ocean and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Swift (who somehow still managed to look shocked after nine gazillion awards).
