Joe Jackson is "almost back to normal" a week after suffering three strokes, according to his daughter La Toya Jackson.

The Jackson family patriarch and former manager of the Jackson 5 was admitted to a hospital in Las Vegas after falling ill on November 29, and La Toya subsequently told her Twitter.com fans she was "so proud of his strength in recovery".

Now, the star has returned to her page on the social networking site to update them on Joe's condition.

In a post on Thursday, she wrote, "Thank you for asking about my father he's doing extremely well! Almost back to normal thanks to you and your prayers we appreciated you!"
