Add Alabama Shakes to the pile of great blues rock bands that seem to be popping out of nowhere. Led by the powerful and soulful vocals of Brittany Howard, the band had quite a year, with invites to soem of the biggest festivals around, and appearances on "Conan," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and the "Late Show with David Letterman."
