Gaga steps up Osbournes feud

Lady Gaga has refused to back down in her ongoing feud with the Osbourne family, insisting the reality TV stars should take the subject of adolescent bullying more "seriously".

The Poker Face hitmaker started the war-of-words by writing an open letter to Kelly Osbourne after the singer-turned-TV star claimed she was being bullied by Gaga's devoted fans.

Gaga hit back by criticizing Kelly's role on TV show Fashion Police, insisting she shouldn't make nasty comments about other people's appearances. The note sparked a furious response from Kelly's mother Sharon, who called the superstar a "publicly seeking hypocrite and an attention seeker," adding, "Welcome to the real world".

Gaga has now responded to Sharon's comments, and explained why she felt the need to speak out.

In a post on her Facebook.com page, Gaga writes, "The 'real world' can be cruel, why not try to change it into a better place? I am an activist. Nobody takes adolescents seriously, I do. My letter to Kelly Osbourne was open, because her statements on cyber-bulling were public & as a youth activist I'm compelled to be involved."
