OTTAWA -- Country star Taylor Swift is reportedly being sued by Capital Hoedown’s ticket agent for nearly $2 million.
Celebrity gossip website TMZ.com said Front Gate Tickets had to refund $1.8-million to ticketholders after Capital Hoedown boss Denis Benoit finally pulled the plug on the troubled 2012 festival.
The suit claims Swift was paid $2.5 million in advance for her headlining role in the festival — money she kept under the terms of her contract when Capital Hoedown was cancelled.
The suit, filed in United States federal court, notes that Swift would still earn $700,000 for not singing if she were to reimburse the ticket vendor, TMZ reported.
Benoit remains committed to reviving Capital Hoedown, which is slated to run from Aug. 9 to 11.
Complete artist lineup and information is due out this month, according to a post of Benoit’s Hoedown Facebook page.
However, the domain for the Hoedown website — www.capitalhoedown.net — has expired.
