Pop stars Girls Aloud are calling it quits after 10 years together.
The five-piece, Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle, announced the split on Wednesday hours after wrapping up their Ten: The Hits Tour in Liverpool, England.
The band, which formed on 2002 U.K. reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals, went their separate ways in 2009 so the singers could work on individual projects but reformed last year to embark on their reunion tour, which commenced last month.
A statement posted on the band's official Twitter.com page reads, "Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts thank you!! This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade. It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!! Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together. Love you lots."
