Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler urged Axl Rose and his Guns 'N' Roses bandmates to keep their drug use and wild times away from shows when the two supergroups hit the road together in the early 1990s - or risk getting kicked off the tour.

The Dream On singer was trying to stay sober and had a summit with Rose, Slash and company just before the dates started, insisting the backstage area at shows was always clean.

He recalls, "I actually got them all together and said, 'If you guys whip something out in the dressing room, I'm gonna wanna use it - and if I do, you're off the tour'.

"It went like that for a minute and then, of course, you can't stop anything."

The memories of Aerosmith's historic tour with Guns N' Roses will come flooding back this summer when Tyler, Joe Perry and their bandmates hit the road with Slash.
