A memorial fund has been established in memory of rising R&B star Aaliyah, to benefit cancer research.
The singer's Canadian label, Virgin Music Canada, announced that the Aaliyah Memorial Fund will benefit the Revlon/UCLA Cancer Research Program, the Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in Harlem, New York, and the National Breast Cancer Centre in Washington, D.C.
The fund has been set up "in accordance with Aaliyah's family," the label said.
The singer died last weekend in a plane crash, while returning from the Bahamas on a video shoot.
