Paul Anka's latest covers disc made a giant leap onto the Canadian album charts this week.
The crooner's latest album, "Classic Songs: My Way," debuted at No. 2 on sales of over 6,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan data.
However, it wasn't enough to unseat the "High School Musical 2" soundtrack, which remained at No. 1 for a fourth consecutive week, according to Nielsen SoundScan data.
The set sold 7,000 copies.
The soundtrack also stayed at the No. 1 spot south of the border, selling 165,000 copies in the U.S., according to Billboard.com.
Back in Canada, Timbaland's "Timbaland Presents: Shock Value" regained two spots to No. 3, the compilation "NOW 12" stayed at No. 4, and Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad" came up one position to No. 5.
Manu Chao's "La Radiolina" premiered at No. 6, Kalan Porter's "Wake Up Living" remained at No. 7, and Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" claimed the No. 8 slot.
Ben Harper's latest disc "Lifeline," after debuting at No. 3 last week, slid six rungs to No. 9, and Fergie's "Dutchess" re-entered the top 10 at No. 10.
The only other notable debut went to Every Time I Die's "The Big Dirty" at No. 49.
In the U.S., Fergie's "The Dutchess" moved up to No. 2, followed by the "Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus" soundtrack in third, Casting Crowns' "The Altar and the Door" in fourth, and Chiodos' "Bone Palace Ballet" in fifth.
