Clark covers Arden hit
By ANIKA VAN WYK
OTTAWA -- Terri Clark came up empty-handed at last night's Canadian Country Music Awards.

But watch out: The Medicine Hat native is going to be difficult to beat next year.

Universal Music, Clark's record label, threw a private party Sunday night. Clark blew away the industry crowd with an acoustic set showcasing material she plans to record for her next album. The evening's highlight was when Clark sang Good Mother, originally written and recorded by her pal, Calgary singer-songwriter Jann Arden. The song, a loving tribute to Jann's mom, appeared on Arden's 1994 million-selling album, Living Under June.

We'll have to wait awhile for the new Clark CD, which is tentatively titled No Fear.

It is currently scheduled for release in April.
