Arden at ease with Regis
By MIKE BELL

Jann Arden took another bite out of the Big Apple yesterday.

The Juno-winning Calgary singer-songwriter is in New York to promote the American release of her latest album Blood Red Cherry and appeared on the popular TV morning show, Live! With Regis & Kelly.

Arden and her band performed one track from the album and then she bantered casually with Regis Philbin and guest co-host Jon Stewart.

"I've done it a couple of times before so I knew what I was in for," said Jann.

"The studio audience is really small, the studio is really small. It's like playing the Old Scotch, for God's sake," she said, referring to the defunct local venue.

"It's a tiny little studio and everybody's short. Regis is 5-2, Jon Stewart's 5-3.

"But Regis is a great guy -- really warm and friendly."

Arden was the third guest on a star-studded show that also featured actress Reese Witherspoon and producer/hip hop star P. Diddy (a.k.a. Sean Combs, a.k.a. Puff Daddy, a.k.a. recently acquitted).

As to whether or not we can expect some P. Diddy remixes of Arden faves, Jann says that's highly unlikely.

"He was in the dressing room with us, but he was very quiet and surrounded by very large body guards ...," she said. "Nobody dared say a word to him."
