Jann Arden plans live album
By PAUL CANTIN
Jann Arden will be recording her upcoming Canadian tour for a live album, the singer revealed during an online chat with JAM! Music.

Responding to a question from fan Shannon Burris, Arden said the tour, which will see Arden backed by her band and symphony orchestras in selected cities, will be the subject of a concert recording.

The tour is in support of Arden's new best-of album "Greatest Hurts."

"I am going to be recording symphony dates in February, where I'm going across Canada doing selected cities with symphonies, we'll be recording all those shows and our hope is to release an album," Arden said in the chat Wednesday.

"I think that will be really special. Live recordings have to be special, they can't be of just any show, the band has to be right...but definitely live albums are in the future."

Arden also said there has been talk of compiling some of her award-winning videos for a DVD collection.

"We're still thinking about that," she said, adding her video director Jeth Weinrich has been consulted about the project.

"Universal (her record label) talks about that all the time. I would fully expect something like that to be available sometime next year. Maybe outtakes, special interviews, compilations. I myself would really like to see that happen in the next 12 months."

So far, only the Western Canadian dates have been confirmed, although Arden said there will definitely be shows in Eastern Canada. The confirmed dates are listed below, and fans can check at the singer's website, www.jannarden.com, for updates as further shows are confirmed.
