Former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft has been arrested and fined for being drunk at a youth event in Wiltshire, England, BBC News reports.

The Melksham police gave the 34-year-old singer on-the-spot notice for being drunk and disorderly at Wiltshire youth club where an event featuring children under the age of 12 was being held.

The British singer, a father of two, gained commercial success with The Verve in the 90s, but due to creative struggles the group disbanded in 1999.

His latest solo album, "Keys to the World," was released in February.
