"Black and white, hot and cold," is how Autechre's Rob Brown describes the early response to his Manchester techno duo's brand new disc, Confield.
"Some people say it's nice and mellow," he says, over the phone from New York City recently. "Other people say it's the most aggressive, psychotic, scary thing we've done. We just keep our mouths shut. You can exist in both places."
