BARRIE - Randy Bachman, without his fellow Guess Who bandmate Burton Cummings, ailing with laryngitis, stole the afternoon portion of the concert with his meat-and-potatoes BTO rock anthems.

Takin' Care Of Business, particularly, sent the sun-baked crowd into a major clap-and-sing-along frenzy. "Thank you, Barrie," said Bachman, who was not even introduced, because the show by then was more than a half-hour behind schedule.

"We are rocking around the world, thanks to Bob Geldof!"
