The Beatles' 1965 ballad "In My Life" has been named the greatest song ever written, according to a new poll in the British music magazine Mojo.
The bittersweet John Lennon number, which was included on the band's album "Rubber Soul," topped the list, which was selected by well-known songwriters including Brian Wilson, Jerry Leiber (of the songwriting team Leiber and Stoller), and Burt Bacharach's lyricist Hal David.
Although the poll considered everything from traditional pop to folk and soul, The Beatles dominated. Paul McCartney's song "Here, There And Everywhere" earned fourth spot, while his song "Yesterday" came in at 11th place.
