Bieber's big YouTube break
By -- Sun Media

Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber got his big break after his mother posted videos of the Stratford, Ont., native singing cover songs on YouTube.

One popular clip, in particular, was Bieber's take on Chris Brown's With You (below).

"I briefly saw him, but I really didn't get to meet him," Bieber said of Brown. "I talked to him on the phone and stuff, though."

This was before the story of Brown assaulting Rihanna broke.

"I was disappointed," Bieber said of later learning about the incident. "I don't know the situation, the way it went down, but I just know that it's not cool to hit anybody, (especially) women."

When Bieber later met Rihanna, five years his senior, he didn't hesitate asking her out, albiet only half-seriously.

"We were at a dinner and I was like, 'It would be funny if I asked Rihanna out.' And I did just for fun. She said no. I wasn't expecting her to say yes."
