After dining on Eminem for the last three weeks, Canada wanted a little taste of the Black Eyed Peas.
The Los Angeles-based quartet's new album, "The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies)," hit the No. 1 spot in the land, racking up sales of 30,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan data.
The figures easily toppled the first week sales of their previous album, 2005's "Monkey Business," which sold 18,000 copies back in July of 2005.
The Peas also grabbed the No. 1 spot south of the border, selling 304,000 copies of "The E.N.D." in the U.S., according to Billboard.com.
Back here, Eminem's "Relapse" (15,000) was relegated to No. 2 after three weeks at No. 1, the Dave Matthews Band's "Big Whiskey & the Groogrux King" slipped one position to No. 3, and Green Day's "21st Century Breakdown" moved down from No. 3 to No. 4.
Chickenfoot's self-titled disc climbed four spots to No. 5, the "Hannah Montana" soundtrack occupied the No. 6 slot, and Kings of Leon's "Only by the Night" went back down one to No. 7.
The rest of the top 10 was rounded out by Ginette Reno's "Fais-Moi De La Tendresse" at No. 8, Lady Gaga's "The Fame" at No. 9, and Nickelback's "Dark Horse" at No. 10.
In the U.S., DMB came in second, followed by Eminem in third, Chickenfoot in fourth, and Aventura's "Last" in fifth.
