In recent years, the jazz trumpeter has composed the music for several films from director Spike Lee (including Jungle Fever, Malcolm X, Crooklyn and Clockers), as well as for a number of non-Lee movie projects, most notably last year's critically acclaimed drama Eve's Bayou and the HBO production Gia.
