Blue Rodeo made their strongest debut ever on the Canadian album charts, but it wasn't enough to corral 50 Cent from the top spot in the country.
The veteran Canadian country rockers' 11th release, "Are You Ready," checked in at No. 3 on sales of 9,300, according to data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.
Their previous studio effort, "Palace of Gold," premiered at No. 6 back in October of 2002.
50 Cent continued to cash in north of the border with his album "The Massacre", which held onto the No. 1 position for a sixth straight week, selling 12,600 copies.
Michael Buble was sandwiched in between, moving from No. 4 to No. 2 with his album "It's Time" (9,600).
Green Day's "American Idiot" fell one spot to No. 4, Beck's new disc "Guero" sank three to No. 5 in its second week, and Jack Johnson's "In Between Dreams" remained at No. 6.
Gwen Stefani's "Love.Angel.Music.Baby" rebounded this week, rising up two spots to No. 7, French artist Marie Chantal Toupin's "Non-Negociable" dropped another three positions to No. 8, the Juno Awards compilation occupied the No. 9 spot, and Will Smith's "Lost & Found" rounded out the top 10.
Other notable debuts this week included Lisa Marie Presley's "Now What" at No. 13, Hot Hot Heat's "Elevator" at No. 29, the "O.C. Mix 4" soundtrack at No. 44, and Beanie Sigel's "The B. Coming" at No. 47.
In the U.S., 50 Cent claimed the top spot, followed by Faith Evans' "The First Lady" in second, Beck in third, the compilation "Now 18" in fourth, and 112's "Pleasure & Pain" in fifth.
