Concert Review: Blue Rodeo

Live 8, Barrie - July 2, 2005
Rodeo ropes 'em
By JASON MACNEIL -- Special to The Toronto Sun

BARRIE - Blue Rodeo are often known for their lighter, country-tinged material, but Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor were having very little of that.

The group opened their set with the rowdy, country-rock Heart Like Mine, with Keelor nailing the song.

The band was very loose, often displaying their harder, edgier style.

From there, the group delivered the tender ballad Try, with Cuddy hitting that one particular high note near the end as well as he always has.

After that it was Keelor's turn to get the crowd into a rowdy mood, ending with Are You Ready.

Here Keelor let loose with his spacey, psychedelic side.
