Bon Jovi's new disc "Have a Nice Day" had a very nice week on the Canadian album charts.
The New Jersey rockers' ninth studio album premiered at No. 1 on sales of 25,000, beating out Disturbed's "Ten Thousand Fists," which entered at No. 2 on sales of over 16,000, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.
It marks the first No. 1 album for Bon Jovi on the SoundScan charts.
The pair of debuts sent Kanye West's "Late Registration" (9,000), the Black Eyed Peas' "Monkey Business" and Green Day's "American Idiot" all down two notches to No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
Matthew Good's hits collection "In a Coma: The Best of Matthew Good 1995-2005" checked in at No. 6, Hilary Duff's "Most Wanted" slipped three more spots this week to No. 7, and Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" re-entered the top 10 at No. 8.
Barbara Streisand's "Guilty Pleasures" spent its first week at No. 9, while 50 Cent's "The Massacre" reissue fell from No. 6 to No. 10.
Other notable debuts included the Luther Vandross tribute album "So Amazing" at No. 11, Coheed & Cambria's "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV" at No. 21, "Rock Star: A Night at the Mayan Theatre" at No. 22, Jamiroquai's "Dynamite" at No. 39, and Shaggy's "Clothes Drop" at No. 44.
In the U.S., Disturbed checked in at No. 1 with 239,000 in sales, followed by Bon Jovi in second, Kanye West in third, the Luther Vandross tribute disc in fourth, and Barbara Streisand in fifth.
