Canadian music stores suffered from the usual post-Christmas blues after album sales sank in the last week of '09.
According to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan, all of the artists in the top 10 saw their numbers decrease significantly, with Michael Buble and Susan Boyle taking the biggest hits on the album charts.
Buble's "Crazy Love," No. 3 last week, dipped from 33,000 to 6,100 this week -- a massive drop of 81 per cent. Despite the big fall, the album managed to only drop three spots to No. 6.
Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream" took a similar blow, closing up with sales of 13,000, compared to 51,000 last week -- a drop of 75 per cent. She did, however, manage to hold on to the No. 1 spot in the land for a sixth straight week.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga's "The Fame" came up three positions to No. 2, Maxime Landry's "Vox Pop" went from No. 4 to No. 3, and the Black Eyed Peas' "The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies)" shot up four to No. 4.
The "MuchDance 2010" compilation occupied the No. 5 slot, Alicia Keys' "Element of Freedom" remained at No. 7, and Lady Gaga's "The Fame Monster" jumped six notches to No. 8.
Rounding out the top 10 was Taylor Swift's "Fearless" at No. 9, and Fred Pellerin's "Silence" at No. 10.
