All in the folk family
Talk to anyone in the folk music circuit and inevitably the name Greg Brown will pop up.

A fixture on the American folk circuit, the Iowa-born Brown carries years of seasoned songwriting, storytelling and music which have moved everyone from Canadian Garnet Rogers -- he recorded Brown's Jesus and Elvis on his 1998 CD Night Drive -- to Syracuse-based Karen Savoca -- whom Brown eloquently sums up this way: "If Karen were a Native American, her name would be Sings Like Two Birds."

It took a double-barrelled boost from Willie Nelson and Garrison Keillor to rejuvenate Greg Brown.

One of the highlights of last summer's Edmonton Folk Music Festival, Brown had reached a stage in his musical career where he wanted to study biology.
