While Memphis authorities have yet to locate the body of singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley, who disappeared last Thursday while swimming in the Mississippi River, his family today issued an official statement that accepts Buckley's death.
"It has become apparent to me that my son will not be walking out of the river," his mother, Mary Guibert, says in the statement, dated Monday at 1:15 p.m. "It is now time to make plans to celebrate a life that was golden.
