Rock of angels
Popster John Buller and other local Christian performers are using their music to sing the Lord's praises
By PAT ST. GERMAIN
Winnipeg singer Jon Buller fills the Walker Theatre every month with young people for an evening of prayer and music. A Christian punk band from Steinbach sells more than 10,000 copies of its debut album. Teens looking to dance and celebrate attend a Christian rave night called C.R.A.V.E. Steve Bell has won two Juno Awards. Next Friday, Christian rap/rock act P.O.D. will play at the Winnipeg Arena in a show sponsored by Power to Change, a Christian organization.
Yes folks, there is indeed something going on here. Christian music is a hot commodity in Winnipeg and Manitoba -- and our performers do it very well.
Today we take a look at three of them -- Buller, punk band The Undecided, and multi-Juno winner Bell.
