There is nothing more galling to a "serious" musician than to see some smart-alec, Celtic-rockin' acting students get all the work, all the attention, all the fame.
Sure, we're talking about Captain Tractor. Who else? It's one of the most successful bands to come from Edmonton and also one of the most scorned - for no greater crime than they maybe didn't take their landlocked sea-shanty music as seriously as they were expected to. One can say the same for the band's various solo projects, including multi-instrumentalist Brock Skywalker. He and his band, the Irregular Heartbeats, release their debut CD, Cerebral Re-runs, with a show at the Sidetrack Cafe tomorrow night. Smirk-worthy pop songs abound, slathered with a healthy dollop of doo-wop.
