Mariah set for 'Canadian Idol' finale
By -- Sun Media

A winner hasn't been decided yet but already Canadian Idol will have a stellar roster for its two-hour finale on Sept. 10.

Mariah Carey will perform on the results episode which will crown this season's winner alongside five-time Grammy winner John Legend, Juno Award-winning and MuchMusic Video Award-winners Hedley (featuring former Canadian Idol contestant Jacob Hoggard), last year's Canadian Idol winner Brian Melo and Juno Award-winner and cast member Jully Black. More details about the sixth season's finale will be announced in the coming weeks.

Carey, who is currently enjoying success with her latest album, E=MC, joins former Bush singer (and Gwen Stefani hubby) Gavin Rossdale, Tom Jones and Simple Plan as those who have appeared on this season of Idol.

The talent leading up to the Sept. 10 finale isn't exactly horrid either. On Monday, legendary singer Anne Murray performs as well as acts as a mentor to the remaining competitors, as will American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. On Sept. 2, Bryan Adams also will perform and serve as a mentor.

The final two contestants will perform on Sept. 8 with fans having the chance to vote for the winner, who will be announced two days later.

Four contestants remain in the competition after Mookie Morris was voted off the last episode. They are Nova Scotia singer Mitch MacDonald, Drew Wright from Collingwood, Ont., and a pair of Albertans: Earl Stevenson from Lloydminster and Theo Tams from Lethbridge.
