With a name like Cinematic Orchestra, no wonder the Director's Guild of Great Britain asked them to perform at a 1999 Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony honouring the late Stanley Kubrick.
"They were saying all that Stanley Kubrick did during his life was be with his family, play chess, listen to jazz and direct movies," Jason "J." Swinscoe, the group's electronica brainchild, says over the phone from his London home.
