Vincent loves golf but don't tell Alice
By -- Sun Media

Although Alice Cooper -- Vincent Furnier according to his birth certificate -- has been rocking for decades, he has always tried to hit the links whenever he has a chance.

So it's no surprise that on this coming Canadian tour he'll try to play 9 or 18 holes when he has the time.

"I always kind of laugh because the people that equate it with Alice Cooper, the character Alice Cooper hates golf," he says.

"I mean I love it but Alice hates it. So the two never meet, you're never going to see Alice Cooper with a golf club in his hand unless it's a weapon."

Cooper has several courses in Canada that he frequents, but one in particular seems to be a personal favourite.

"There's a course in Thunder Bay called Whitewater," he says. "It's a course that's just a spectacular course on this great big river that's always running rapids. There's moose in there and there's eagles and Bigfoot, it's really one of the most beautiful courses you've ever seen in your life.

"There are hundreds of great golf courses in Canada. When I play in Winnipeg I play at Rossmere, when I play in Vancouver I play at Shaughnessy so I know all the courses -- so if I get a chance to play I will play. A lot of times you get into a city and you have radio and interviews and it just kind of kills the day. But there are days when I get days off and that's where I'll go."
