Not enough of an Alice Cooper fan to shell out the big bucks for his mammoth four-disc Life and Crimes box set? Here's a cheaper, less time-consuming option. Mascara & Monsters is basically a scaled-down single-disc version of the box, featuring 22 digitally remastered Coop classics -- from I'm Eighteen, School's Out and Elected to You and Me, I Never Cry and Poison -- including the mandatory Extra Song That Wasn't In The Box Set (Generation Landslide). Like all retrospectives, fans can quibble about which classic has been overlooked -- Dead Babies and I Love the Dead are conspicuous by their absence. But no matter how you slice it, this is still the most complete Cooper hits set for the money.
