Album Review: Cooper, Alice

DRAGONTOWN
By MIKE ROSS

DRAGONTOWN
Alice Cooper
(EMI)

Imagine if you were one of Alice Cooper's kids - how would you shock dad? By listening to Tony Bennett? Balancing on the edge beyond which lies the abyss of self-parody, this fiftysomething golf nut can still churn out a good, sinister groove - and a few laughs - that can be heard on his latest burnt offering. Dragontown's heavy metal mood adds a head-banging drive to this collection - a soundtrack to an adult horror comic.
