Cranberries yank video due to plane images
By JAM! Music

Merely showing skyscrapers and airplanes in the same frame was enough to cause a recall of the new video by The Cranberries.

The band's label, MCA Records, issued a press release Friday saying the group's clip for "Analyse" has been pulled back from video channels and the group's website and will be re-edited "in the wake of last week's tragic events in the United States."

The clip shows singer Dolores O'Riordan singing near London's Canary Wharf, but in the distance, two skyscrapers are seen, with a plane flying past. Later, people are seen walking past chalk outlines on the pavement.

The press release said director Keir McFarland designed the clip as an "alien nation (sic) story following a man who appears in the video as a shadow, and chronicles his shock at the corporate build up of the environment."

The track comes from the group's new album, "Wake Up And Smell The Coffee," which is set to arrive in stores in Canada on Oct. 23.

"The incidents in New York, Washington and elsewhere in the USA were the most horrific, saddening images I have ever seen," the band's Fergal Lawler said.

"I've felt sick and numb since then. I would like to offer our sincerest sympathy to anyone who was affected." (More on The Cranberries)
