Mega-selling rock outfit Creed has broken up after eight years together, MTV reports.
The band, which has sold over 24 million albums, posted the news on their official website.
"Creed was one of the most amazing journeys through music and friendship I am blessed to say I was a part of, singer Scott Stapp said. "I made memories I can never replace! I just want to thank the fans who supported us and became a part of the Creed experience."
Creed's last album was 2001's "Weathered," which debuted at No. 3 on the Canadian charts, and at No. 1 in the U.S.
A hits compilation is currently in the works for release later this year.
