TORONTO - Stephen Stills was not seriously injured when he fell on stage at the Air Canada Centre on Tuesday night.
Stills, who was performing with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, cut his left hand on a footlight -- the lights at the foot of the stage that shine upward. The injury required a couple of stitches, according to a spokesperson at Jensen Communications, which handles CSNY's affairs.
The CSNY Freedom of Speech '06 tour is continuing as planned.
Following the two shows played in Toronto Monday and Tuesday, CSNY is scheduled for a show tomorrow night in Winnipeg.
Fans at the ACC Tuesday were disturbed to see the 61-year-old Stills -- who is rather heavy and doesn't move around very well anymore -- take a hard tumble while playing guitar during the final song of the main set, Rockin' In The Free World. It was a few minutes before Stills was helped up. He left the stage and did not return.
His bandmates -- David Crosby, Graham Nash and Neil Young -- skipped the encore, which on Monday had consisted of one song, Woodstock.
CSNY is touring for the first time since 2002. Their concerts this year have featured a mixture of golden oldies and songs from Young's recent protest album, Living With War. -- Bill Harris
