Depeche Mode lands at No. 3 with "Sounds of the Universe."

Veteran synth-popsters Depeche Mode made a solid debut on the Canadian album charts this week.

Their 12th studio album, "Sounds of the Universe," checked in at No. 3, selling 11,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan data.

However, Depeche Mode couldn't beat out the Miley Cyrus-led "Hannah Montana" soundtrack, (12,000) which remained at No. 1 for a second straight week.

Sandwiched in between at No. 2 was Ginette Reno's "Fais-Moi De La Tendresse," which sold just under 12,000 copies.

Meanwhile, Diana Krall's "Quiet Nights" and "Star Academie 2009" both dropped two spots to No. 4 and No. 5, and the Tragically Hip's "We Are the Same" slipped one to No. 6.

Rounding out the top 10 was Metric's "Fantasies" at No. 7, Kings of Leon's "Only by the Night" at No. 8, Leonard Cohen's "Live in London" at No. 9, and Lady GaGa's "The Fame" at No. 10.

In the U.S., Rick Ross's "Deeper Than Rap" landed in first, followed by "Hannah Montana" in second, Depeche Mode in third, Rascal Flatts' "Unstoppable" in fourth, and Asher Roth's "Asleep in the Bread Aisle" in fifth.
