Celine Dion rocketed to the top of the Canadian charts for the second time in less than seven months.

Dion's French-language album "1 filles & 4 types" accomplished the feat with first-week sales of 44,500, according to data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan Canada.

It marks her sixth No. 1 album in the SoundScan era, and her fourth to debut at the top position. Dion's "One Heart," released in March, sold 97,000 copies in its first week, still the biggest debut of the year so far.

Dion's high-water mark for Canadian sales remains 1997's "Let's Talk About Love," which had opening week sales of 230,000.

"American Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken had the unenviable task of going up against Dion this week, but managed some good numbers himself. His album "Measure Of A Man" debuted at No. 2 with sales of 25,200.

Aiken managed to beat out the previous year's winner Kelly Clarkson, who entered the charts at No. 7 back in April with "Thankful," which moved 10,500 units in its first week.

Dion and Aiken sent Nickelback's "The Long Road" (14,800) skidding down to the third spot, after spending three weeks at No. 1. Brit sensation Dido also dropped two spots to fourth with her latest album, "Life For Rent" (10,500).

Elvis Presley fell to fifth after having the highest debut last week with the compilation "2nd To None" (8,800), Sting's "Sacred Love" (7,800) also sank two notches down to sixth, and Obie Trice's "Cheers" dropped one position to No. 7.

Evanescence's "Fallen" (6,500) rose two spots to eighth while Hilary Duff's "Metamorphosis" (6,400) went down to ninth.

Barbra Streisand's "The Movie Album," a collection of famous Hollywood songs, debuted at No. 10 with sales of 6,200.

Other notable debuts this week included the collection "Country Heat 2004" at No. 38, Travis's "12 Memories" at No. 42, and The Distillers' "Coral Fang" at No 59.

In the U.S., Clay Aiken debuted at No. 1 on big sales of 612,800, followed by Ludacris's "Chicken & Beer" (193,700) in second, Jagged Edge's "Hard" (177,700) in third, OutKast's double CD "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" (167,800) in fourth, and Barbra Streisand (162,000) in fifth.
