Celine heading back to Vegas
By QMI Agency

Celine Dion is returning to Las Vegas for a new three-year stint -- starting March 15, 2011.

Dion's husband, Rene Angelil, confirmed the news on Tuesday to QMI Agency and divulged several details about the all-new show, which Grammy Awards genius Ken Ehrlich will help develop.

Dion herself will announce the news on the Oprah show in an episode taped last week in Chicago, where the singer was attending the premiere of her new film, Celine: Through the Eyes, which opens in theatres across Canada on Feb. 17.

"We're very happy to return to the Las Vegas stage," said Angelil, who promised a large-scale show that will showcase the singer's huge voice. "The schedule will be human for Celine, to avoid tiring her out."

This, Angelil said, assures that Dion will be able to balance work and family.

The show contract is for three years, with 70 shows each year, and Dion will perform in the same Caesars Palace theatre originally built for her A New Day concert series. Dion will share the stage with 31 musicians, including nine that have been with her since early in her career.

Angelil, who wouldn't say how much the contract was worth, said he envisioned a show with a large orchestra for his wife's eventual return to Vegas, after he saw her sing during Quebec City's 400th anniversary celebration.

Angelil said artistic director Ehrlich, who has worked with Dion in the past, was excited to work with the singer again.

"This second show in Las Vegas will be as amazing as the first adventure, with A New Day," Angelil said.

He also said that the couple's son, Rene-Charles, 9, is their priority, and the concert schedule will accommodate the child's school schedule.
