Disturbed made a lot of noise, but not quite enough to scare Avril Lavigne off the top of the album charts.
The Chicago metal band's sophomore album "Believe" entered the charts at No. 2 on sales of 13,400, just behind Avril Lavigne's "Let Go" (15,400) which held steady in the top spot for the second week in a row, according to data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.
The compilation "Now!7" (13,200) dropped one spot to third, while Theory Of A Deadman, whose self-titled debut is the first signing from Chad Kroeger's new label 604 Records, debuted in fourth on sales of 11,200.
Eminem's "The Eminem Show" (9,900) slipped two notches to fifth, Nelly's "Nellyville" (9,500) remained in sixth, Coldplay's "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" (8,900) tumbled from fourth to seventh, and the Dixie Chicks' "Home" (8,200) fell from fifth to eighth.
Lifehouse's "Stanley Climbfall" (5,800) and Isabelle Boulay's "Ses Plus Belles Histoires" (5,400) entered the charts at No. 9 and No. 10 respectively.
Other notable debuts included Enrique Iglesias' all-Spanish album "Quizas" at No. 30, Kenny G's "Paradise" at No. 38, and Natalie Cole's "Ask A Woman Who Knows" at No. 48.
In the U.S., Disturbed debuted at No. 1 on sales of 283,600 and bumping the Dixie Chicks (168,300) to second. Avril Lavigne (131,900) also slipped a position to third, Nelly (125,200) held steady in fourth, and Eminem (116,900) fell from third to fifth.
