TEN THOUSAND FISTS
More of the same from Disturbed

Disturbed
Ten Thousand Fists
(Reprise/Warner)

Chugging detuned guitars. Check. Bludgeoning funk-metal grooves. Check. Evil electronic flourishes. Check. Gruff bellowed vocals, gothically anthemic choruses and aggressively defiant lyrics. Check, check and check.

Chicago bruisers Disturbed might be able to get 10,000 maniacs to raise their fists with their turgid thunder and caveman grunts, but if they want those fans to put down the joysticks and buy this, they should have come up with 10 new ideas instead of just recycling the same old riffs and rage.

Or they should at least have found a few more covers as cool as their snarling remake of Genesis' Land of Confusion.
