Bob Dylan makes chart splash

Bob Dylan enters at No. 4.

Music legend Bob Dylan showed the young ones a thing or two with his big debut on the charts this week.

His new album "Together Through Life" checked in at No. 4, selling over 10,000 copies, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.

Dylan also had a big entry south of the border, premiering at No. 1 on sales of 125,000 in the U.S., according to Billboard.com.

Back here, three francophone efforts dominated the top of the charts -- Jean Leloup's "Mille Excuses Milady" (18,000) hit No. 1, Ginette Reno's "Fais-Moi De La Tendresse" (16,000) held on at No. 2, and Eric Lapointe's "Ailleurs Volume 1" checked in at No. 3.

Meanwhile, the "Hannah Montana" soundtrack fell from No. 1 to No. 5, Patrick Watson's "Wooden Arms" debuted at No. 6, and Annie Villeneuve's self-titled effort landed at No. 7.

Rounding out the top 10 was Diana Krall's "Quiet Nights" at No. 8, Kings of Leon's "Only by the Night" at No. 9, and Paul Potts' "Passione" at No. 10.

In the U.S., the "Hannah Montana" placed second, followed by Rascal Flatts' "Unstoppable" in third, Rick Ross' "Deeper Than Rap" in fourth, and Lady GaGa's "The Fame" in fifth.
