It seems Canadians feel empty without Eminem on top of the Canadian album chart.
Slim Shady's "The Eminem Show" was once again back in the No. 1 spot on the Nielsen SoundScan Canada retail album chart, selling 16,000 copies across the country. In the process, the album dropped Dave Matthews' latest effort "Busted Stuff" (9,900), which debuted at No. 1 last week, to fourth this week.
Meanwhile, Nelly's "Nellyville" (13,900) moved up one spot to second and Canadian teen sensation Avril Lavigne's "Let Go" (13,300) rose from fifth to third. The Red Hot Chili Peppers' "By Thw Way" dropped a notch from fourth to fifth on sales of 9,500.
Pink's "M!ssundaztood" (7,800) held steady in the sixth position, Celine Dion's "A New Day Has Come" (7,400) jumped from ninth to seventh, Shakira's "Laundry Service" (6,400) rose from 10th to eighth, Our Lady Peace's "Gravity" sank from seventh to ninth, and John Groban's self-titled effort dropped two positions to No. 10.
The biggest debut on the charts was country star Toby Keith's "Unleashed", which checked in at No. 24, while Boyz II Men's "Full Circle" landed at No. 29.
This week's JAM! Chart Battle pitted the Dave Matthews Band against the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the majority of JAM! readers -- 58% -- correctly picked DMB's "Busted Stuff" to chart higher.
In the U.S., Toby Keith's "Unleashed" debuted at No. 1, selling 338,200, and beat out the "Now 10" collection (287,900). Nelly's "Nellyville" (270,700) dropped from second to third, DMB's "Busted Stuff" (211,700) slid from the top spot to fourth, and Eminem's "Eminem Show" (193,000) sank from third to fifth.
