Artist: Eminem

Springsteen falls out of top spot
By JOHN WILLIAMS

The Boss is no longer in charge of the top spot on the Canadian album charts.

After debuting in the top spot last week, Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising" (13,100) has fallen back to second as Eminem's "The Eminem Show", powered by the new single "Cleanin' Out My Closet", reclaimed the No. 1 position on sales of 14,900 copies.

Napanee's Avril Lavigne held fast in third with her smash debut album "Let Go" (13,000), Nelly's sophomore effort "Nellyville" (11,500) remained in fourth, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, fresh off a media blitz last week which included an appearance on MuchMusic, rose from sixth to fifth with their album, "By The Way" (8,500).

The "XXX" soundtrack (8,300) scored the highest debut of the week landing in sixth, Pink's "M!ssundaztood" (8,000) stayed in the seventh spot, Linkin Park's remix album "Reanimation" (5,890) sank from fifth to eighth, Shakira's "Laundry Service" (5,800) rose from 10th to ninth and Celine Dion's "A New Day Has Come" (5,500) dropped a notch from ninth to 10th.

Other notable debuts include rapper Scarface's "Fix," which came in at No. 46, and the re-issue of Nickelback's "Curb," which debuted at 76. ("Curb" has been reissued after the band won a lawsuit over ownership of their 1996 independently released debut album).

This week's JAM! Chart Battle pitted the "XXX" soundtrack against Victoria Williams and the majority of JAM! readers -- 76 per cent -- correctly picked "XXX" to chart higher.

In the U.S., Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising" held the No. 1 spot selling 238,800, beating out Nelly's "Nellyville" which rose from third to second on sales of 208,100. Eminem's "Eminem Show" (172,900) climbed from fifth to third. Scarface's "Fix" (159,700) debuted in the fourth spot, while the "Now 10" collection dropped from fourth to fifth.
