Artist: Eminem

Eminem cleans up Canadian chart
By JOHN WILLIAMS

Parents beware, Eminem doesn't seem to be budging from the top spot on the Canadian album charts.

Eminem's "The Eminem Show," with help from his new hit single "Cleanin' Out My Closet," had no problems cleaning up the weak competition this week by staying at No. 1 on sales of 18,400 - more than 3,000 than the previous week.

Trailing well behind was Napanee, ON native and pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne and her debut album "Let Go" (14,000), which rose from third to second, and Nelly's "Nellyville" also moved up one spot from fourth to third.

Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising" (10,200) continued it's descent down the charts, sinking from second to fourth, while the soundtrack to Vin Diesel's "XXX" (9,100) rose from sixth to fifth. Pink's "M!ssundaztood" (7,900) jumped from seventh to sixth, and Red Hot Chili Peppers' "By The Way" (7,800) fell from fifth to seventh.

Columbian sensation Shakira rose one spot to eighth with her hit album "Laundry Service" (7,200), Celine Dion's "A New Day Has Come" (6,000) climbed from 10th to ninth, and Enrique Iglesias' "Escape" crawled back into the top ten, landing in the 10th spot.

The highest debut this week went to the country compilation "New Country 9" which checked in at No. 36. Other debuts included the "Music Of The Millenium" collection at No. 43 and Mary J. Blige's remix album "Dance For Me" at No. 47.

In the U.S., "The Rising" fell out of the top spot to third, and was replaced by "Nellyville." Eminem climbed from third to second. James Taylor's "October Road" debuted in the fourth position and Lavigne rose substantially from ninth to fifth.

Here are the 10 best-selling albums in Canada, according to Nielsen SoundScan:
