Eminem taps Jay-Z, Xzibit for '8 Mile'

Eminem's "8 Mile" soundtrack may turn out to be the "Saturday Night Fever" of the hip-hop generation.

Billboard reports Eminem has tapped heavyweight rappers Jay-Z, Rakim, Xzibit, Gang Starr, Nas, as well as Eminem proteges D-12 for the soundtrack.

All of the artists will contribute exclusive songs for the project.

Eminem also pitches in with three of his own new solo tracks, including the single "Lose Yourself" and "Love Me," which also features Obie Trice and 50 Cent.

The soundtrack is set to be released in Canada on October 29.

The film, starring Eminem and Kim Basinger, will hit Canadian theatres on November 8.
